About Project


The EU4EnergyEfficiency project supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s green transition by improving energy efficiency in public buildings, strengthening institutional capacities, and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.

Funded by the European Union with a total value of more than EUR 6 million, the project is jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Czech Development Agency (CzDA), in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MOFTER), and will run until August 2029.

Project Objectives

  • Support Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting its Energy Community obligations and aligning with EU energy and climate standards
  • Reduce energy consumption in public buildings
  • Increase the use of renewable energy sources
  • Strengthen institutional capacities for sustainable energy management
  • Introduce the Energy Service Company (ESCO) model to attract sustainable investments
